A power outage has been reported at the Mount Vernon Campus. GW is aware of this outage and continues to monitor the situation.
President Barack Obama will visit GW on Monday, Dec. 8, to be interviewed during a special episode of the "The Colbert Report" filmed at Lisner Auditorium.
Street Closures, Parking Restrictions, and Metrobus Detours for National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Thursday, December 4
The annual National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place near the White House on Thursday, December 4. The ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. Road closures around the White House begin at 1 p.m. and continue until the conclusion of the program at 7:00 p.m. Affected roadways include 15th, 17th and 18th Streets NW.
Today, November 24, 2014 the Office of Safety & Security will be testing all digital signage throughout the Foggy Bottom Campus. The test will be from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
A power outage has been reported at the Virginia Science and Technology Center (Ashburn, VA). GW is aware of this outage and continues to monitor the situation.
On Tuesday, Nov. 11, “The Concert for Valor” (http://www.theconcertforvalor.com) is scheduled to take place on the National Mall. Event organizers anticipate up to 800,000 attendees, which will impact the area immediately surrounding the National Mall. GW IS OPEN AND OPERATING ON A NORMAL SCHEDULE ON TUESDAY, NOV. 11.
The GW community is advised that 17th Street, NW between Constitution and Independence Avenues will be closed on Friday, October 31 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Commuters are advised to avoid this area and seek alternative routes or take Metrorail especially during the morning rush hour.
12th Annual Foggy Bottom Neighborhood & West End Block Party will be on Sunday, October 19th with road closure from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
