2019 Fourth of July Celebration

On Thursday, July 4, 2019, the 2019 Fourth of July Celebration will take place in the District of Columbia.

Timeline of Events:

National Independence Day Parade  from 11:45 am to 2:00 pm  Parade will be held on Constitution Avenue NW between 7th to 17th Street  

Salute to America at Lincoln Memorial from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm  This will include a speech by President Trump and military planes fly over

A Capital Fourth Concert at the U.S. Capital (west lawn at the Capitol Building) from 8:00 pm to approximately 9:30 pm

Fireworks Display will be launched from the West Potomac Park behind the Lincoln Memorial and will begin at approximately 9:05 pm and continue until approximately 9:45 pm

In conjunction with this event, there will be extensive street closures, increased pedestrian traffic, and planned demonstrations around town. For a full list of road closures please visit https://mpdc.dc.gov/release/updated-traffic-advisory-2019-fourth-july-celebration

There will also be parking restrictions along many streets; look for the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed. Please visit https://www.wmata.com/ for alternative public transportation options into and out of the city, as well as any metro closures.
