Move-In may impact GW’s Foggy Bottom and Mount Vernon campuses with increased pedestrian and vehicular traffic between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on August 17-23.
Additionally, the Freedom 250 Grand Prix will be held near the Capitol building August 21-23. Extensive road closures will occur prior to and following the event. GW community members should expect increased pedestrian and vehicular traffic in and around affected areas.
Please see the MPD Traffic Advisory for a complete list of closures and anticipated times. The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) reports there will be impacts to Metro train and bus service near the event locations. On August 23 from 10:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., all flights from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport will be paused. This may create changes and delays in travel. For more information, visit the FAA website.
