For those planning ahead, GW encourages families, guests and graduates to take the Metro to the National Mall as parking is extremely limited near the National Mall. The Metro opens at 8 a.m. on Sundays. The closest Metro stops to the commencement site are the Smithsonian and Farragut West stations on the Orange, Silver and Blue lines. Other nearby stations include Metro Center and Farragut North on the Red line, and McPherson Square and Federal Triangle on the Orange, Silver and Blue lines.
