Emergency Water Outage: Academic Center & Honey W. Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service
September 27, 2017

[UPDATED: September 27; 6:15 p.m.An update on the water outage affecting Academic Center. The water outage is expected to continue past the originally stated time. It is expected that water service will be restored before 6:00 AM Thursday 09/28. However, an exact time of restoration between 10:00 PM an 6:00 AM is not available. Due to unforeseen issues, DC WASA has been unable to seal off the water main break. As a result, we expect to see temperature fluctuations in the building this evening and during overnight hours. HVAC systems will continue to run but will do so below full operating capacity due to water limitations.

We ask that you continue to refrain from using bathrooms, sinks, or water fountains in the building. Please redirect any bathroom needs to the Marvin Center or Gelman Library.

The use of Academic Center continues to be open and operating under a normal schedule. The university will provide an update on Campus Advisories.
