[Updated: March 21, 4:15 a.m.] GW classes are canceled, administrative and academic offices are closed, and activities and events will not take place on Wednesday, March 21 because of inclement weather throughout the Washington metropolitan area. This includes Foggy Bottom, Mount Vernon, and Virginia Science and Technology campuses, Biostatistics Center, Alexandria and Arlington graduate education centers, and other locations throughout the Washington metropolitan area.
Updates and changes to dining, transportation, library hours, NCAA athletic events and other university services will be posted throughout the duration of this weather event at CampusAdvisories. Please check back at this site frequently for the latest updates.
Employees classified as Designated On-Site are required to report to and/or remain at work, employees classified as Essential are generally expected to telecommute, and employees classified as Non-Essential are not required to work unless directed to do so by a supervisor. If you are unsure of your classification, please ask your supervisor.
Notification of Operating Status: The university’s operating status will be evaluated on a daily basis during this weather event. A decision about the university’s operating status for Thursday, March 22 will be made by 5 a.m. tomorrow. Information will be communicated through the following ways:
