[Updated: January 14, 4:45 p.m.] GW will open and operate on a normal schedule on Tuesday, January 15. This includes Foggy Bottom, Mount Vernon, and Virginia Science and Technology campuses, Biostatistics Center, Alexandria and Arlington graduate education centers, and other locations throughout the Washington metropolitan area.
Streets, sidewalks, parking lots and garages on all of our area campuses have been cleared and are passable. However, we understand that, for some, getting to campus may be difficult as regional transportation returns to normal service.
Thank you for your patience as this weather event concludes and we return to normal campus operations overnight.
As a reminder to our campus community, especially our new community members:
The university's operating status is evaluated on a daily basis. If there is a need to alter the university's operating status because of adverse weather, university officials will do their best to make decisions by 5 a.m. for morning operations and/or classes or by 4 p.m. for evening operations and/or classes.
If the university changes its operating status, information will be communicated through the following ways:
