Intermittent Power Outages Reported at Academic Center

September 06, 2016
[Updated: Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 1:15 p.m.]—The Division of Operations reports that parts of Phillips Hall within the Academic Center complex is experiencing intermittent power outages. Because of the power outages, some offices and classrooms within the building may experience temporary loss of power and/or wired and wireless Internet connectivity at intermittent times throughout the day.

Classrooms are open and available for teaching as long as there are no audiovisual requirements for the in-person class. If the class needs to be conducted using audiovisual components, we encourage faculty to hold the class online and/or provide work for students to complete. Students, we ask that you check your email for class updates from your faculty and faculty are encouraged to work with students to make adjustments as necessary. Faculty who teach in the building today and who have questions should contact their scheduling liaison in their respective dean’s office for additional assistance.

Staff with offices in the building and who may be affected should consult with their supervisor.

The repair will necessitate that power to all three buildings of the Academic Center complex be turned off. This work will be completed overnight in order to provide as little disruption as possible to building occupants. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.
