[Updated: Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m.]— Parts of Phillips Hall within the Academic Center complex continue to experience power outages. Several elevators are affected and are not working.
Classrooms are open and available for teaching as long as there are no audiovisual requirements for the in-person class. If the class needs to be conducted using audiovisual components, we encourage faculty to hold the class online and/or provide work for students to complete. Alternatively, faculty whose classroom has no working electrical outlets may contact their scheduling liaison in their respective dean’s office to work with the Registrar’s office to move the class to a temporary location. Students, we ask that you check your email for class updates from your faculty and faculty are encouraged to work with students to make adjustments as necessary.
Staff with offices in the building and who may be affected should consult with their supervisor.
Repairs will continue until power is fully restored to the building. Repair work will be conducted overnight in order to provide as little disruption as possible to building occupants. It will be necessary for power to all three buildings be turned off during repairs. It is currently anticipated that full power will be restored to affected areas of the building prior to Sept. 12. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.
