Severe Thunderstorm Watch-DC Area May 30, 2019

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Washington, D.C., metropolitan region until 9 p.m. on May 30, 2019. A severe thunderstorm watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce tornadoes.

It is recommended that people stay indoors and monitor local media for the latest weather updates. University officials will continue to monitor activity in the region and provide additional updates as needed.
