Street Closures, Parking Restrictions and Metrobus Detours for National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Thursday, December 3

The annual National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on the White House Ellipse on Thursday, December 3. The ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m.
 
Road closures for this event are expected to be in place from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Roads closed for vehicular traffic are 15th Street and 17th Street and between Constitution Avenue and New York Avenue, NW.
 
Metrobus is expecting detours and service disruptions in the area. Check Metro’s website (http://wmata.com/) for information.
 
Due to the heavy pedestrian crowds associated with this event, motorists are encouraged to exercise caution when traveling in these areas.
