A tornado watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Washington, D.C., metropolitan region until 1200am. A tornado watch means that weather conditions are favorable for the formation of a tornado. A tornado warning may be issued if a tornado has actually been sighted in the region.
It is recommended that people stay indoors and monitor local media for the latest weather updates. University officials will continue to monitor activity in the region and provide additional updates as needed.
