[Updated: May 19, 5 a.m.]—GW’s University-wide Commencement will be held today, Sunday, May 19, at 9:30 a.m. on the National Mall. The ceremony site is located at the base of the Washington Monument near the intersection at Constitution Avenue and 15th Street. Commencement on the National Mall will take place rain or shine.
For those planning ahead, GW encourages families, guests and graduates to take the Metro to the National Mall as parking is extremely limited near the National Mall. The Metro opens at 8 a.m. on Sundays. The closest Metro stops to the commencement site are the Smithsonian and Farragut West stations on the Orange, Silver and Blue lines. Other nearby stations include Metro Center and Farragut North on the Red line, and McPherson Square and Federal Triangle on the Orange, Silver and Blue lines.
Commencement on the National Mall is one of many graduation celebrations held throughout the week at GW.
All school ceremonies and the University-wide Commencement on May 19 will be live-streamed at www.commencement.gwu.edu.
