The Cherry Blossom 5K and 10 Mile races will occur on Saturday, April 1st and Sunday, April 2nd respectively. The 5K will begin at 9:15 am Saturday with the 10-mile beginning at 7:30 am Sunday. These races will result in several road closures around the District to keep in mind if commuting to and from GW this weekend. Additional details can be found on the event website.
Road Closures
MPD reports there will be numerous impacts to vehicular traffic in the area of the Cherry Blossom 5K and 10-mile races this weekend. An active list of road closures and parking restrictions can be found on the MPD Advisory Webpage for this event along with further information about vehicle access to the affected areas. US Park Police will also colse several roads for the 10-mile race on Sunday, April 2, from approximately 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. Additionally, race organizers have posted a map of road closures on their website.
