As of 8 a.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, the university has resumed limited in-person activities on the Foggy Bottom campus. The safety and wellbeing of our GW community remains our top priority. To help you navigate the remainder of the week, below is up-to-date guidance for traveling to and from the Foggy Bottom campus.
- WMATA Closures: Thirteen Metro stations are scheduled to remain closed through Jan. 21. These stations are bypassed entirely as part of the temporary service adjustments. In addition, 26 bus routes will continue to be rerouted around the security perimeter through today. For further information, please visit GW Campus Advisories or the WMATA website.
- Employee Parking: If you are a designated on-site staff member and you do not currently have a monthly parking permit, you may park for free through Jan. 21, 2021, using your GWorld card at one of the following locations:
- Academic Center: 801 22nd Street, NW (Entrance on Eye Street)
- G Street: 2028 G Street (Entrances on both 20th and 21st streets between F and G streets)
Monthly parking permit holders should still park in their assigned garage.
- Impact on Commute: Please plan your commute accordingly with the expectation that there will be significant travel delays. However, if individuals arrive late to work due to the impact of street closures surrounding GW, supervisors should use their discretion and ensure that no employee faces consequences for late arrival.
- Residential Students: The Saturday, Jan. 23, and Sunday, Jan. 24, move-in for new residents this spring semester remains on schedule. These students will continue to receive information directly from Campus Learning & Residential Education (CLRE).
Please note the following locations have reopened today, Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021:
- Campus libraries (Gelman, Himmelfarb, and the Law School)
- The Lerner Health & Wellness Center
- The GW COVID-19 testing site at the Marvin Center
- The GW MFA COVID-19 testing site at Shenkman Hall
