GW Winter Weather Advisory for December 8th

December 7, 2021

The Washington Metropolitan Area is expecting to see mild winter weather on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, affecting both VSTC and the Washington, DC campuses.

A slight chance of snow flurries and light snow may develop by as early as 7-8am tomorrow morning (EST), with light activity remaining possible through about 1-2pm. Some rain may mix with the snow as well. Any snow accumulations will be light (less than 0.50") with much of it occurring on grassy, unpaved surfaces. Rainfall amounts of less than 0.1" are expected.

The university does not anticipate any changes to our current operational status. GW Emergency Management will continue to monitor the weather forecast for our campuses and post updates, as needed, on Campus Advisories.

For preparedness tips and safety information, refer to GW’s Emergency Response Handbook or visit the Department of Homeland Security’s Ready.gov website for additional resources to help you plan ahead for emergencies.
