Multiple law enforcement agencies have responded to a shooting incident involving National Guard members near the corner of 17th and H Street NW, close to the Farragut West Metro Station. DC Fire and EMS have confirmed that three individuals have been transported for medical care. MPD reports that a suspect is in custody.
The United States Secret Service, National Guard, ATF, and Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) are currently on scene. Please avoid the area until further notice.
The Farragut West Metro Station is closed and MPD has closed the following roads to vehicles and pedestrians:
- 500 - 900 blocks of 17th Street from New York Avenue to K Street, NW
- 800 block of Connecticut Avenue from H Street to I Street, NW
- 1600 - 1700 blocks of K Street from 18th Street to 16th Street, NW
- 1500 - 1700 blocks of I Street from 18th Street to 15th Street, NW
- 1600 - 1700 blocks of H Street from 18th Street to Connecticut Avenue, NW
