March 15, 2025 – Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon and 5k

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon and 5k will be taking place. The event will begin with the 5k at 7:45 am and the Half marathon at 8:00 am. The course will traverse close to the GW Foggy Bottom Campus, resulting in road closures and parking limitations. For additional information, please visit the event website 

This event may impact the Foggy Bottom Campus and transportation to the Mount Vernon Campus. Road closures are scheduled to begin between 6:00 pm on March 14 and 7:30 am on March 15 and reopen between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm on March 15, dependent on location. The course will begin on Constitution Ave and move towards the Foggy Bottom Campus. The completion of the course is west of the Capitol Building. Increased foot traffic can be expected in and around affected areas. The GW Vex will run on a regular schedule with the possibility of delays. All dining, campus, and other services will remain open as per their current schedules.  

MPD reports there will be numerous impacts to vehicular traffic on March 15, 2025. Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) reports there will be impacts to Metro and bus routes near the event. For timely Metro information, please visit WMATA X (Twitter).
