The university is monitoring activities associated with WorldPride 2025 events taking place from Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 8, 2025. Traffic, road closures, and crowds are expected to impact downtown DC and surrounding areas. There is no information that suggests a specific threat to GW or other area campuses or institutions.
17th St Block Party
This event will take place on 17th St between Corcoran St and Church St NW. The event runs Friday, June 6, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 7, from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
14th St Parade (Capital Pride Parade)
This event will start at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, beginning at 14th St and T St NW and ending at 9th St and Pennsylvania Avenue. The 1.8-mile route will bring significant road closures and pedestrian traffic to the surrounding area throughout the day.
WorldPride Street Festival & Concert
This event will take place on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8, from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Pennsylvania Avenue between 9th St and 3rd St NW. The event will bring road closures and pedestrian traffic to the surrounding area.
