We are following up to provide additional information on the District House evacuation. On Monday, the university received a report from MPD that an individual called 911 and said there was a bomb in District House. Upon receipt of this information, the university immediately issued a GW Alert requesting that individuals inside the building evacuate and community members avoid the area. MPD immediately responded to thoroughly investigate the building and did not find any evidence of a bomb. The building is now safe for reentry.
The GW Police Department, safety and student affairs teams provided support to our community throughout the incident. Thank you for your patience and understanding as GW worked to ensure the safety of our community, which is always our foremost priority.
All members of the GW community automatically receive GW Alerts by email. To sign up to receive text alerts, or to add family members to GW Alerts, visit https://safety.gwu.edu/alerts-advisories.
