A pedestrian bridge collapsed onto DC- 295 in Northwest Washington, D.C. that connects to Polk St NW to the western side of Kenilworth Ave NW near Doulas St NE. Debris including slabs of concrete and metal fencing are on top of three lanes of roadway and fencing hangs over the traffic in the opposite direction. A Hazmat unit is mitigating a diesel fuel leak from a truck that is partially beneath the bridge. This is an ongoing situation, with traffic backups being reported. This will most likely cause traffic delays for the evening commute.
