Potential Winter Weather Impact 1/28/2022

January 27, 2022

The National Weather Service has advised that a potential winter storm will impact the east coast tomorrow, January 28th and Saturday, January 29th, affecting both VSTC and the Washington, DC campuses.

Light snow showers will develop after 6 PM Friday and continue through mid-morning on Saturday. Total snowfall accumulation is estimated between 1 and 2 inches, and approximately 0.5 inches of snow is expected to accumulate on pavement. Road conditions may be hazardous on Saturday morning.

The university is open and does not anticipate any changes to our current operational status. Shuttles are expected to run on their normal schedule. GW Emergency Management will continue to monitor the weather forecast for our campuses and post updates, as needed, on Campus Advisories.

For preparedness tips and safety information, refer to GW’s Emergency Response Handbook or visit Ready.gov for additional resources to help you plan ahead for emergencies.
