Severe Storms Possible Saturday, April 22nd

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the DC Metro Region for Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 10:10 AM until 6:00 PM.

Scattered severe thunderstorms with damaging winds, large hail, and a couple tornadoes are possible this afternoon and early evening.

Precautionary / Preparedness Actions:

-Check the forecast before venturing out. Driving could become dangerous due to flash flooding.
-Never drive through standing water or flooded roadways. You risk your life and the lives of first responders. Turn around, don’t drown saves lives.
-Secure loose objects outside your home (for example: patio furniture, grills, and garbage cans).
-Clean out your gutters so water can move away from your home. -Keep your cell phones charged in case you lose power.
