Due to winter weather, all university campuses and centers are physically closed on Tuesday, Jan. 7; however, staff should telework or report to work in person and remote instruction may take place as detailed below. This applies to the Foggy Bottom, Mount Vernon, and Virginia Science and Technology campuses; the Biostatistics Center; and the Alexandria and Arlington Education centers.
Please note the following important information:
Classes
- No in-person classes will take place. However, faculty who teach in-person classes should use technology to continue classes online, if possible, and notify students directly of such arrangements as soon as possible. Students should contact their faculty with any questions.
- Online classes will proceed normally.
Work Schedules
- Essential on-site staff should report to work in person as scheduled. Contact your supervisor directly with any questions or concerns.
- All other staff should telework if work can be performed remotely. Contact your supervisor directly with any questions or concerns.
Clinical Enterprise
- Those with clinical responsibilities should follow the guidance of your clinical coordinator or designated supervisor. An email will be sent with additional guidance from SMHS.
- The GW Medical Faculty Associates and GW Hospital will be open and operating on a normal schedule.
Residential Life and Campus Services
- Residence halls remain available for students approved to stay in their halls over winter break.
- Campus dining remains closed due to the winter break schedule.
- Lerner Health and Wellness Center will be closed.
- Access to law buildings, including the Burns Law Library, is not available.
- The Mount Vernon Campus Express (VEX), Late Night Shuttle Van, Safe Ride and VSTC Express services remain suspended. A GW Alert will be shared when services resume.
Campus Activities
- Activities and university-sponsored events are canceled.
