Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Thursday, December 15, from 1 a.m. until 1 p.m. Freezing rain is expected and may affect the Foggy Bottom and Mount Vernon campuses, as well as the Virginia Science and Technology Campus.

The university remains open and does not anticipate any changes to its operations on Thursday. Shuttles are expected to run on their normal schedule. GW Emergency Management will continue to monitor the weather forecast for GW’s campuses and post updates on Campus Advisories as necessary.

Sleet and freezing rain are expected to develop after midnight and transition to rain around 9 a.m., continuing through Thursday night with total ice accumulations of a glaze to around one tenth of an inch. Road conditions may be hazardous Thursday morning.
