The university is continuing to monitor activities associated with the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday and remains in close coordination with its local and federal partners. For the most up-to-date information, please visit the US Army 250th Birthday – Campus Safety page on the Campus Advisories website.
As a reminder, the university will remain open and operating during this time period. For more information, please see U.S. Army Birthday Festival & Parade: Update #1.
Campus Access Updates:
Starting early the morning of Friday, June 13th, road closures and restricted access will be in place that will affect both the morning and evening commutes. The Foggy Bottom campus will be located within a local traffic zone. This means that vehicles may need to explain their purpose for entering the area (such as having business at GW) to be allowed through. However, people walking in the area will not face any restrictions and can move freely within the zone. Please see the full map for specific closure information.
For timely traffic information, please monitor MPD on X. Similarly, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) reports that there will be impacts to Metro train and bus service near the event locations. For timely Metro information, visit WMATA on X.
For additional safety and security resources, visit the Safety website or download the GW Guardian app. Emergency management information from the District is also available online.
